Faiz Paracha parts ways with Samaa, joins Abb Takk
ISLAMABAD: Seasoned journalist Faiz Paracha has joined Abb Takk Television, ending a three year association with Samaa TV where he was economic correspondent.
 
Having joined Abb Takk as a correspondent he would mainly be covering economy, energy and telecom sectors. Paracha started his television career with Telebiz in 2003. Telebiz later transformed into CNBC Pakistan (now Jaag TV). He continued his professional pursuit in various channels including Business Plus TV, APP Video News Service (VNS), Geo News and lately Samaa TV. He has also hosted news and current affairs shows.
 
At Samaa, he was the lead economy correspondent and had many remarkable stories and packages to his credit including news of fake BA degree of Abdul Qadir Gilani, son of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. He also gave the budget documents before the presentation of the actual budget to the federal cabinet for approval.
 
Faiz made an impression with his lively and interactive reporting during the twin sit ins of PTI and PAT in Islamabad last year and made remarkable number of stories and packages which were acknowledged by many.
 
Several senior journalists have quit Samaa in recent months, among them Tahir Rathore, Waseem Akhter, Irfan Malik, Anwar Raza, Adnan Mukhtar and Fayyaz Raja.
 
Insiders say Samaa recently hired six trainee journalists, who are fresh university graduates for its Islamabad bureau.
 
Abb Takk TV Islamabad bureau is headed by senior journalist Khalid Jamil. The channel turned two, this month.
