ISLAMABAD—PTI leader Aleem Khan, during a meeting with prime minister Imran Khan, has tendered his resignation as provincial food minister to ensure "neutrality" as a media owner of Samaa TV.

In a tweet, he stated that: "I convinced the prime minister that being a media owner, it is necessary for me not to hold any government post," adding that he was grateful to the prime minister for accepting his resignation.

The move happened after the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) approved the transfer of shares and changes in the management of Samaa TV.
