ISLAMABAD, October 2, 2025: Islamabad Police stormed the National Press Club, attacking journalists and damaging their cameras and equipment while dispersing a protest staged nearby. The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) and other media bodies condemned the attack and termed it an act of terrorism. 

ISLAMABAD, January 28, 2025: Journalists in Islamabad protest amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). The amendments are seen as an attempt to further tighten control over digital expression and internet freedom under the guise of curbing misinformation.

MANILA, June 24, 2024: Distinguished Pakistani journalist Kamal Siddiqi speaks at the East-West Center International Media Conference in Manila. He was awarded the Journalists of Courage Impact Award for exhibiting extraordinary bravery and making a profound impact through his work. Six other journalists from around the world were also honored.

ISLAMABAD, May 28, 2021: Prominent Geo News presenter Hamid Mir talks during a protest outside National Press Club to condemn the attack on journalist Asad Toor. Mir spoke boldly against the military establishment, an outburst that led to his show Capital Talk banned by the Geo management.
