ISLAMABAD: The Global Investigative Journalism Network has decided to include Pakistani journalist Zahid Gishkori’s story in its annual newsletter and it may also be considered for an award.
Gishkori did the story, “Spending bonanza: PPP spent Rs125b to win votes. It failed,” for The Express Tribune in March this year.
It is the second story ever from Pakistan as before him, The News journalist Umar Cheema's story was included two years ago.
Gishkori's piece was also recently taught to some journalists for a data journalism course at a bootcamp arranged by the Institute of Business Administration - Center for Excellence in Journalism, Knight International and Hacks Hackers at IBA Karachi for three days.
It is expected the story would be presented at the Global Investigative Journalism Conference to be held in Norway in October this year.
