Abb Takk fined Rs100,000 for not using time-delay mechanism

ISLAMABAD: Electronic media's regulatory body PEMRA has slapped a fine of Rs100,000 on Abb Takk Television for failing to install time-delay mechanism and let derogatory remarks go on air.

This happened in the program 'Tonight with Fereeha' hosted by Fereeha Idrees which was aired on October 19, 2015.

PEMRA wants all channels to use a time delay mechanism to maintain editorial control - meaning that live transmissions reach viewers after a gap of few seconds during which any unwanted remarks or scenes can be filtered out.
