LAHORE—The election committee of Lahore Press Club (LPC) has decided to go for re-polling on January 16, 2022 (Sunday), following rigging allegations in the elections held four days ago.
According to a press statement signed by the chairman and members of LPC Election Committee, the same candidates would contest on January 16 who ran for the December 26 elections.
The committee will soon hold meetings with the candidates to decide the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the polling day.
A total of 71 candidates contested for 15 seats in the elections, whereas more than 200O council members and 325 life members of Lahore Press Club exercised their right to vote.
However, many complaints regarding the election riggings emerged, due to which the election committee decided on repolling.
