Sabir Shakir resigns from ARY News after a 17-year stint

ISLAMABAD—Prominent journalist Sabir Shakir has resigned from ARY News without citing a reason.

The ARY Islamabad Bureau Chief, Shakir, announced his resignation in a Twitter statement.

He stated that he sent his resignation to the channel owner Salman Iqbal.

"Today I have sent my resignation to my only boss Salman Iqbal. I love ARY very much," he tweeted.

The resignation comes days after it was reported that ARY management took him off air over his YouTube channel. Shakir worked for ARY for almost 17 years.
