Join our WhatsApp channelLAHORE: Raza Rumi, an analyst who anchors the program Khabar Se Agay on Express News Television survived a gun attack Friday but his driver was killed and a guard injured.
According to reports, the attack took place near Raja Market on Ferozpur Road where unidentified gunmen opened fire on Rumi's car. His injured driver was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Rumi had left the office after hosting his program.
The tribune.com.pk quoted Rumi as saying he had not received any direct threats from anyone. However, he is reportedly on the hit list of some extremist organizations.
The Express Group continues to be under attack. Only on March 19, a bomb was found planted outside the home of their Peshawar bureau chief Jamshed Baghwan.
On January 17, three employees of Express News TV were killed in an attack claimed by the Taliban in Karachi while last year there were two gun and bomb attacks on group's Karachi offices that injured at least four people.
