Join our WhatsApp channelISLAMABAD—PTV News will launch nine new shows in the first phase of its comprehensive content revamp program from Monday.
The phase also includes the introduction of new anchorpersons, newscasters, sets, and screen graphics.
The new content strategy has been devised in light of the vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan and the directions of the PTV board of directors that will bring in a paradigm shift to the entire content and look of the state broadcaster.
The launch is the first phase of a complete turnaround of PTV News that will have its program spectrum considerably expanded in light of the new content strategy.
PTV will soon be offering a whole array of exciting youth-focused infotainment programs too. PTV News will provide a range of programming with an emphasis on intellectual debate and in-depth perspectives on news and current affairs.
The new programs lineup being launched Monday includes a prime time show by veteran journalist and presenter Owais Toheed titled ‘Shahrah-e-Dastoor.’ It will be aired at 8:00 pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Popular anchor Nadia Mirza will host another prime time show named ‘Aiwan Say Awam Tak’ to be aired at 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
Acclaimed writer and journalist Imtiaz Gul will bring in his opinion in the show ‘Nukta-e-Imtiaz’ along with anchor Mishal Bokhari at 10:00 pm Friday through Sunday.
PTV veterans Syed Anwaarul Hassan and Mona Alam will start shows with new formats, namely ‘Sach Ka Saath’ and ‘Badalti Raey’ respectively.
Muniba Mazari, a celebrity and motivational speaker, will start a weekly show on social issues called ‘Samaj’ every Sunday at 7:00 pm.
Popular host Faisal Rehman will bring in ‘Barjasta,’ presenting a celebrity on a hot seat every Friday at 7:00 pm.
Under a special arrangement with the German media network Deutsche Welle, PTV News will also start a series of Urdu dubbed documentaries courtesy DW called ‘DW Ki Dunya’ to be aired at 5:30 pm daily. The series will cover issues like climate change, technology, health, tourism, art & culture, and sports.
